If you ever need more parking spaces than your rental property is able to provide, nearby contract parking is a great solution. Below is a map of contract parking options in West Campus. Click on the placemarks for more details. Prices listed are based on a one year contract, although semester and month-to-month contracts may also be possible at some (typically for a higher price). It's not uncommon for some of these places to become sold out and/or waitlisted, so contact your desired location as soon as possible. You may be able to find additional parking options on Craigslist ("West Campus" Parking), Craigslist ("UT" Parking), UT Austin Sublets Facebook Group, UT Buy/Sell/Trade/Free Facebook Group, Parkopedia, ParkMe, or near condo mailboxes (sometimes, renters at condos who have a surplus parking space will advertise it for sale in a common area at the complex). If you're a UT student and will only need your car a few times per semester, you may also want to consider parking your car a mile east of West Campus on the eastern edges of UT, where a C or C+ permit will only cost you $10.58 or $15.92 per month, respectively.
You can also try your luck with street parking, but free street parking has become scarce in West Campus due to the widespread installation of parking meters. Free street parking is much more prevalent in North Campus (especially west of Guadalupe, where residential parking permits aren't required) and Hyde Park (residential permits aren't required at all north of 38th Street). A map showing the streets that require residential permits is attached to this page.
